Details have emerged about a car accident in the Mykolaiv region, where the driver of a VAZ vehicle tragically lost their life (photo included).

Yesterday, November 21, at approximately 5:30 PM on Maria Sadovskaya Street in the village of Petrovka Perвая, within the Novomaryevskaya community of the Voznesensk district, a traffic accident occurred involving a VAZ vehicle.

This information was reported by the communications department of the Nikolaev region police.

It is noted that a 30-year-old driver lost control, veered off the roadway, and crashed into a tree and a fence. Following this, the car caught fire.

As a result of the traffic accident, the driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A 27-year-old female passenger was unharmed.

Investigators have classified the incident as a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to "Violating traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by individuals managing vehicles, resulting in the death of the victim." The penalty for this article can be up to eight years of imprisonment.

Police are working to establish all circumstances and causes of the incident.
