Near Mykolaiv, two cars skidded off an icy road into a ditch, resulting in injuries to an 8-year-old child.

On the morning of Thursday, December 5, on the road "Mykolaiv-Blahovishchenske," the vehicles Kia Sorento and BMW sequentially veered off the road into a ditch.

This information was reported by a correspondent from "Novosti-N" who was at the scene.

As "Novosti-N" learned, the first vehicle involved in the accident was the Kia. The crossover was traveling along the road from Nova Odesa towards Mykolaiv. Near the overpass at the turn to Mykolaiv airport, the car lost control, went off the roadway into the ditch, and flipped over.

Just a few minutes later, a nearly identical situation occurred with a BMW traveling in the same direction: it also lost control and slid into the ditch, but unlike the Kia, it did not overturn and remained on its wheels.

As a result of the accident, an 8-year-old child who was in the Kia vehicle was injured and was taken away by an ambulance from the scene.

The cause of the accident was ice that formed on the overpass. Vehicles suddenly transitioning from a dry road to a slippery one lost control and slid into the ditch. The icy section had not been treated with reagents or sand. It was only two hours after the accident that a specialized vehicle arrived at the scene and spread sand over the hazardous area. However, by that time, the ice had already begun to melt on its own.
