The Social Democratic Party of the current Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz (SPD), may include a provision in its election program to refuse the delivery of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. This was reported by Berliner Morgenpost, as noted by UNN.

Details

According to media sources, the Social Democrats promise to assist Ukraine for as long as necessary.

The draft program states that the SPD supports the training of the Ukrainian armed forces and the supply of weapons and equipment with "caution and a sense of moderation" to protect Ukraine and ensure peace in Europe.

At the same time, the SPD emphasizes that assistance should be provided in such a way that Germany and NATO do not become participants in the war.

"That is why we support Chancellor Olaf Scholz's decision not to supply Taurus cruise missiles from Bundeswehr stockpiles," the program states.

Reminder

Chancellor Scholz of Germany has refused to provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles to avoid conflict with Russia. Opposition leader Merz advocates for the transfer of missiles for strikes against Russian military targets.
