Norway has agreed to take on part of the responsibility for protecting the main transit hub for foreign military aid to Ukraine, which passes through Poland. This was reported by Bloomberg, as conveyed by UNN.

Details

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Norway will assist in the protection of this vital facility as part of NATO member countries' cooperation. This concerns the Rzeszów-Jasionka airport, which facilitates the delivery of up to 90% of Western cargo for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This decision comes amid increasing risks of foreign interference, which forced Poland to enhance security measures in the region earlier this year. Rzeszów, located less than 100 km from the Ukrainian border, has become a critically important logistics hub for Ukraine. Its reliable protection is essential for maintaining the stability of military aid supplies.

Reminder

Previously, UNN reported that Poland provided Ukraine with military assistance amounting to €3.23 billion, including more than 350 tanks and other equipment. The country allocated 4.91% of its GDP to support Ukraine and refugees, which is the highest figure among donors.
