And I present to the world, the diaspora, and the people in Ukraine the mother Ukrainian song. Therefore, there has to be something more than just Ms. Hanna stepping out to present a song, tell a story, and sing. A team is needed, where professionals, volunteers, and my family will work together,” emphasizes Hanna Kozakova.
According to the program guest, it is quite remarkable that her sisters are members of the group; it seems as if God himself is assisting the project and allowing the family to work together. Creative relationships, she notes, are always very emotional, very ambitious, and very complex.
Recently, the singer mentions, they held their debut concert based on their debut album – “Pies with Blackberries.” She states that when work on the album began, a debate ensued, as it does in every creative family or team, about how to approach it, because it seemed that the world had not yet heard them, and it would be better for the audience to receive songs of one style and love them all.
“However, I had a completely opposite opinion. I believed that we needed to create a diverse album, featuring both upbeat and sad songs, patriotic and lyrical pieces, and even the mystique of Ukrainian ethno-folk so that we could understand from this first album (and we have 14 unique original songs) which songs resonated the most with our listeners. Therefore, this album contains a combination of the most interesting collaborations,” explains Hanna Kozakova.
