SubscribeThe expert recalls how, after the strike of a new Russian ballistic missile on Dnipro, information began circulating that it would devastate the entire right bank of Kyiv, among other things, but there are several nuances. As he explains, if it is not a nuclear warhead, then the question is what exactly it should be, and whether they are capable of equipping the missile accordingly. The strike that occurred was more of a demonstration of the missile itself rather than the consequences of its impact.
“I do not rule out that they will launch another missile, and it may be equipped with something, but it will definitely not be a nuclear warhead. And there is no need to outline the entire right bank with a compass or look elsewhere, no. We understand that Kyiv is a large city, there are large cities, and to destroy something with one missile without a nuclear warhead, well… But I believe that risks exist. Moreover, it seems to me that if Putin decides to carry out the next launch, it may be closer to NATO countries,” reflects Aleksandr Musienko.
Regarding the West's reaction, he notes that the most important point here is the statement by NATO Military Committee Chairman Admiral Bauer that NATO is changing its strategy. That is, the expert explains, NATO is reverting to a Cold War-era deterrence strategy, where preventive strikes are permissible. As for the “Hazelnut,” he adds, Russia must warn about the missile launch, because if not, the reaction will be immediate.
“I want to remind you of late 2023 to early 2024, reports in Italian media that leaked after another NATO Military Committee meeting about considering scenarios for strikes on nuclear weapon storage sites in Belarus. They clearly indicated that Belarus was not previously a target, but now it has emerged. Well, I think this has been agreed upon for a long time: if Russia continues to act this way, they will not strike Russian territory, but they may strike Belarusian territory, targeting nuclear storage sites,” concludes Aleksandr Musienko.

As reported by ZN.ua, Karasev stated that the results of negotiations with the Russian Federation will be determined by the Ukrainian group in the Kursk region.
ZN.ua also wrote that Musienko explained how the West is transforming its understanding of escalation in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
