Zelensky has tasked officials with preparing a report on the suspended American aid programs.

"Numerous projects are underway. We will identify which of them are critical and require immediate solutions. We can secure part of this funding through our national finances, while the rest will be discussed with our European and American partners," stated the president.

Volodymyr Zelensky instructed government officials to report on the American support programs that are currently suspended. This pertains to humanitarian programs.

The president announced this during his evening video address.

“Oleksiy Kuleba and other officials are determining which specific programs are currently in deficit; almost all of them were not funneled through the Ukrainian government, but directly through our communities and various organizations. There are many projects. We will identify which of them are critical and require immediate decisions. Part of this funding can be secured through our state finances, while the rest will be discussed with our European and American partners,” Zelensky explained.

He noted that this concerns many areas—from communication and digitalization to support for veterans, schools, hospitals, and reconstruction. The priority issues are those that primarily concern Ukrainian children, veterans, and infrastructure protection programs, which the state will support, Zelensky assured.

The day before, Deputy Head of the President's Office Iryna Vereshchuk announced consultations with the U.S. regarding the suspension of funding for humanitarian and other assistance.

On January 25, Ukrainian organizations began receiving letters from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) regarding the temporary halt of financial support. USAID had funded projects related to medical reform, educational institution development, and veteran support. One of the first to report the funding suspension was VeteranHub.

This followed an order from the U.S. Department of State to cease U.S. activities concerning foreign aid. The day before, Trump signed a directive to reassess U.S. foreign policy, one of the points of which is a 90-day suspension of all foreign aid programs. This does not affect military assistance to Ukraine, reports Voice of America.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the Trump administration sent on leave approximately 60 USAID employees.
