The Ukrainian national team faced Georgia away in the 5th round of the Nations League. Before the match, the "blue and yellow" were at the bottom of the Group B1 standings and needed a win to avoid relegation. The team, led by Rebrov, managed to score early in the match, aided by the opponent, but unfortunately, they could not maintain their lead.

Midway through the half, Georgia finally equalized: Kochorashvili headed in a cross into the box, Trubin managed to deflect it in front of him, but Mikautadze was first to react to the rebound. The hosts created several opportunities to take the lead, while the Ukrainians were forced back and played defensively. In stoppage time, Hutsulyak and Nazarenko each had two chances to score past Mamardashvili, but he saved both, stopping two "dead" balls. As a result, a hard-fought draw which allowed Georgia to accumulate 7 points and lead the group, while Ukraine, with 5 points, remained at the bottom.
