He discussed this on his blog.

“Peace can be achieved in a month. Over the next few years, we can bring back half of the Ukrainians who have left. Let’s be honest; otherwise, we end up with all sorts of fairy tales. Let’s look at the sociology: we can bring back half, but the other half will not return. After some time, we can restore the country’s transit potential. And we will even have time to live in a good country, leaving our children a historical legacy instead of conflict, war, and hysteria,” asserts Ruslan Bortnik.

According to him, sociology shows that the majority of Ukrainians support ending the war, and they will likely vote this way in a referendum. It is crucial, the expert emphasizes, that this issue is resolved through a referendum, as this way politicians are not to blame; it is the people's choice, and no one will try to play the revolution card.

Afterward, he explains, borders will open, some men will move to Europe, some women will return from there, funds for the country's reconstruction will flow in, property and land prices will start to rise, logistics will gradually recover, and American and European capital will enter the market.

“Everything will depend on the professionalism of the government. If the government is professional, meaning the president, the government, and the parliament are all competent, then Ukraine will restore its transit potential. Transit flows will once again pass through us, the Chinese Silk Road will run through us again, our ports will operate efficiently, and we will begin to recover quickly and effectively. In such a scenario, we might even live better than we did before 2014,” concludes Ruslan Bortnik.
