Starting from the new year, a housing rental subsidy will be available for displaced persons.

The government, as part of the "Winter eSupport" initiative, is introducing a housing rental subsidy for internally displaced persons. This will come into effect in January of the next year.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this information.

"We understand the difficulties faced by those who have left their homes. Internally displaced individuals who spend more than 20% of their income on rent will be able to apply for the subsidy, and the state will partially cover these expenses," he noted.

Additionally, the government will also compensate landlords for part of the income tax, provided that they rent their apartments or houses to internally displaced persons officially under a contract.

As Shmyhal emphasized, the rental subsidy for IDPs will now be available in all regions.
