Place a few tennis balls or special washing balls in the washing machine drum. They will help prevent the down from clumping.

After washing, run an additional rinse cycle to completely remove the detergent.

Avoid high spin speeds; it's best to turn the spin off entirely. This will help prevent deformation of the item.

Dry the jacket flat, laying it on a drying rack or towel. Shake it periodically to distribute the down evenly. Occasionally turn the jacket during drying for uniform drying.

Once the down jacket is dry, shake it again to fluff the down.
