WEF 2025 – Yegor Firsov at the Ukrainian dinner: If someone launched a drone attack right now, it would be successful.

He emphasized that Ukrainians possess the world's best experience in drone warfare, and therefore can share this expertise with other countries.
WEF 2025 – Егор Фирсов на Украинском вечере: Если бы кто-то сейчас устроил атаку дронами, она бы увенчалась успехом.

The economic forum in Swiss Davos, despite the heavy security presence, could easily become a target for terrorists if they were to launch a drone attack. This was stated by the former head of the State Ecological Inspection and now a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yegor Firsov, during the Ukrainian dinner at WEF 2025.

“Davos has a lot of security. There are checkpoints – armed personnel, security frames. Millions of dollars are spent on the safety of world leaders, and they feel comfortable and secure in Switzerland. But all of this is just an illusion of safety. As a drone specialist, it is clear to me that if some organization (not even a country) decided to carry out an FPV drone attack from the nearest Swiss mountain – there is a 99% chance that the drones would reach their target,” Firsov noted in his speech, the content of which he shared on Facebook.

In his opinion, the security measures in Switzerland and other countries do not adequately address modern challenges.

“Technical means of combating drones change almost every month, just as drones themselves are constantly adapting to current front-line conditions. This is an ongoing process. And I have not seen Swiss military personnel in Donbas. Similarly, I have not seen American or German troops. They are probably present somewhere in Kyiv as consultants, but the real experience of modern warfare from all democratic countries is something we – Ukrainians – have exclusively,” emphasized Firsov, who is a qualified drone operator.

He pointed out that this is not just a military threat, but also a terrorist one.

“We are not just experiencing this knowledge; we are creating it! So if Western countries do not help us survive and win, then they will be the ones creating this experience at the cost of their citizens' blood. And there will be much bloodshed, as their experience will be built from scratch, while Russia has been developing it for years,” said the serviceman.

“We have unique experience – we, as a country, are resisting drones every minute. We can be very helpful! Leaders of the civilized world – help us survive, and we – Ukraine – will assist the free world in the challenges of the future,” he appealed to the leaders present at the event.

Background. Recall that the day before in Davos, President Zelensky stated that “if Putin returns – he will definitely come back with an army 10 times larger than the 200,000 at the beginning of 2022, as it is already four times larger.”

To avoid such a scenario, he mentioned the security guarantees that must be provided to Ukraine: NATO membership, the placement of long-range weapons in Ukraine, and the deployment of a military contingent from allied countries.
