Applicants for graduate programs will take a new exam in the philosophy of science.

Applicants to the postgraduate program will have an additional examination. In addition to the unified entrance exam, they will also take a unified specialized entrance test in the philosophy of science. This was reported on November 20 by “Osvita.ua”.

This unified state test will replace the traditional entrance exam usually conducted at higher education institutions. The relevant changes are outlined in the draft Order of Admission to Higher Education Institutions, which the Ministry of Education and Science has published for public discussion.

The Order of Admission to Higher Education Institutions establishes minimum test scores for the Unified Entrance Exam (150 points for each test component – General Knowledge and Foreign Language) and the Unified Specialized Entrance Exam in the philosophy of science (100 points).

“After receiving two positive test results, the prospective postgraduate student must take an entrance exam at the university – in a foreign language, their specialty, or undergo other forms of entrance testing (in the form of exams, interviews, presentations of research proposals or achievements), if they are specified in the Admission Rules of the higher education institution,” as stated in the Order of Admission to Higher Education Institutions.

If applicants to the postgraduate program for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy or Arts come from a different specialty, additional entrance examinations may be established for them.
