The European Commission has approved the allocation of 4.1 billion euros to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility.

This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

He noted that the Commission provided a "positive assessment of the reforms and highlighted that the government met the necessary indicators to receive this tranche."

"We expect a swift agreement on the decision from the EU Council. After that, the total support amount under the Ukraine Facility for this year will reach 16.1 billion euros," the Prime Minister wrote.

Background. Previously, Mind reported that EU countries reached an agreement on a loan of 35 billion euros for Ukraine backed by frozen Russian assets. The EU aims to make these funds available to Ukraine starting in 2024, and the loan will be repaid over a maximum of 45 years.
