In Volyn, border guards prevented the smuggling of a 19th-century antique icon, which may hold cultural significance, across the border. This was reported by the Western Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine-Western Border, as noted by UNN.
Details
It is noted that the antique item, dated 1880, was being transported by a 37-year-old resident of Kharkiv Oblast in her personal belongings while she was heading to Poland.
The customs officers seized the find. An examination will determine whether it possesses cultural or historical value.
Reminder
Border guards confiscated a violin by Albert Schlegel Markneukirchen from a 21-year-old Ukrainian at the "Vylok" checkpoint. The instrument has been sent for examination to assess its cultural and historical significance.
