A resident of Volyn was sentenced to five years in prison for involving women in prostitution in Germany.

The man recruited three socially vulnerable women, one of whom was a minor.

The Lutsk District Court has sentenced Volodymyr Plotychko for pimping. The man sought out socially vulnerable women and offered them job opportunities in Germany. During a personal meeting, the accused explained that the work would involve providing sexual services. Three women from Volyn agreed to the offer, but they were unable to leave the country as they were detained at the border checkpoint. For his actions, the pimp received a five-year prison sentence.

According to the verdict dated January 22, in April 2019, Volodymyr Plotychko met a girl on social media whom he offered to help find a well-paid job in the service sector in Germany. The man emphasized that they needed to meet in person in Lutsk to discuss the details. He also asked the girl to bring along a few more women.

According to the investigation, during the conversation, the accused recruited three women from Volyn, one of whom was a minor – he promised them high earnings, favorable working and living conditions, and assistance with documents for traveling abroad. In return, the women were to provide intimate services and give half of their earnings to the owner of the brothel.

On June 15, 2019, the three women attempted to leave for Hamburg through the "Rava-Ruska" vehicle checkpoint, but they were detained by law enforcement.

Judge Andriy Sivchuk found Volodymyr Plotychko guilty under Part 2 of Article 303 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (pimping or involving a person in prostitution, committed by prior conspiracy of several persons) and sentenced him to five years in prison. Additionally, the accused must pay 10,000 UAH to each of the victims. The decision can still be appealed in the appellate court.
