During the night, Russian forces launched over a hundred drones and a missile at Ukraine.

In the early hours of Saturday, December 21, Russians once again attacked Ukraine. For this, the occupiers used 113 drones and one missile. This was reported by the press service of the Air Forces.

It was noted that the Russians attacked Ukraine by launching strike drones from Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Berdyansk. Additionally, Russian military forces from the temporarily occupied Donetsk region attacked Poltava with a guided missile.

As of 09:00, the Air Forces confirmed the downing of 57 strike drones in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Another 56 Russian imitation drones were locally lost due to electronic warfare actions.

“The air assault was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the statement read.

Consequences of the Russian Attack

In Kharkiv, a Russian drone struck a high-rise building in the Saltivskyi district. A fire broke out on the first and second floors at the impact site, which was extinguished by rescuers. As a result of the attack, three adults experienced acute stress reactions, and a 12-year-old girl sustained minor shrapnel wounds. In the Kyiv district of Kharkiv, a strike drone hit a private house, injuring two people.

In Zaporizhzhia, a high-rise building was damaged due to the attack. Medical personnel provided assistance to three women on-site. A 12-year-old boy with a shrapnel wound to the leg was hospitalized. On the morning of Saturday, December 21, the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that the child had been transferred to the general surgery department.
