“Currently, this platform collects 1.5 million euros every month. We thought long and hard about how to launch this idea. You link your card and you don’t unlink it; money is deducted monthly. These are not different amounts each time; it's a fixed monthly amount, and you know that you are helping, and you don’t have to rely on other fundraising efforts. I presented it this way: you can either buy two cups of coffee or help Ukraine monthly. And it worked,” shares Vladimir Biryukov.
On the other hand, he notes that there is an issue with corruption in Ukraine, which sometimes comes up in volunteer discussions. According to the volunteer, although it’s not his specific fault, when you are collecting aid, people criticize you; they worry that the money will be stolen and won’t reach its intended destination.
