“I want to remind you that the only concession made was that Russia must retreat to the borders that existed prior to February 24, 2022. However, this isn't a concession; it's the beginning of negotiations that could take place. This is how the president articulated it. But, according to a representative of the American leader, Putin will also need to soften his positions. He mentioned that discussions with everyone will take place over time, possibly soon, which would be beneficial for both sides. Meanwhile, the publication NV, citing its sources, reports that Kellogg’s visit to Ukraine might happen as early as mid-February,” comments Alexander Musienko.

In his view, the most important thing is to finally state that Russia needs to soften its positions, as no one seems to mention what concessions Putin should make. Interestingly, the expert reminds us that Russia is also suffering due to the war—through sanctions, losses, and the enemy's advance in the East is halted daily, so there’s no need to protect Putin's reputation here.

According to him, Trump should adopt a similarly tough policy against Russia as he does with China, Canada, and Mexico, which would allow for negotiations in the fall from a position of strength for Ukraine. However, the expert notes that this is currently not happening, as is the lack of a decrease in oil prices, since OPEC countries rejected Trump’s proposal.

“It would also be good if Secretary of State Rubio visited, who for some reason decided that Ukraine has been set back by 100 years. Well, this demonstrates a poor understanding of American politicians regarding Ukraine and Europe as a whole. There are indeed some politicians like that, as Ukraine is far from being behind. If he came, he would see,” adds Alexander Musienko.

As reported by Znay.ua, Musienko stated that Ukraine has drones with a range exceeding 2000 km: “We are not afraid of Russia”.
