The English club "West Ham" announced on its official website the dismissal of head coach Julen Lopetegui (the 58-year-old Spanish specialist took charge on May 23, 2024). The premature termination of the contract was due to the team's unsatisfactory results at the end of the first part of the season – the Londoners currently sit in fourteenth place in the EPL standings (the team has achieved only 3 victories and suffered 4 defeats in the last 10 matches).

Alongside Lopetegui, the club also parted ways with assistant coach Pablo Sanz, head of performance Oscar Caro, chief analyst Juan Vicente Peinado, fitness coach Borja De Alba, and technical coach Edu Rubio. The club is currently searching for a new manager.

It is worth noting that Lopetegui began his independent coaching career in 2003 with the Spanish club "Rayo Vallecano." His coaching resume includes: "Real" Madrid Castilla (2008-2009), Spain U-19 national team (2010-2013), Spain U-20 national team (2010-2013), Spain U-21 national team (2012-2014), Portuguese "Porto" (2012-2014), Spain national team (2016-2018), "Real" Madrid (2018), "Sevilla" (2019-2022), and "Wolverhampton" (2022-2023).

With the Spain U-19 national team, he won the European Championship twice (2011, 2012), and a year later, he repeated this achievement with the U-21 team. In the 2019/20 season, he secured the UEFA Europa League Cup with "Sevilla."

Additionally, from 2018 to 2022, Ukrainian national team midfielder Andriy Yarmolenko played for "West Ham."
