On the night of November 10, in Yaremche, a 41-year-old driver under the influence crashed into a stone fence. When patrol officers arrived at the scene, he struck one of them in the face with his head. The resident of Prykarpattia faces up to 5 years in prison for his actions.
As reported by the Ivano-Frankivsk regional prosecutor's office on November 11, the perpetrator of the accident was a resident of the Kolomyia district who lost control and collided with the fence. A patrol police crew arrived at the scene.
“The officer sustained minor injuries, including a closed head injury and a bruise to the frontal area of the head. Pre-trial investigation into this incident is ongoing. Currently, the question of selecting a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved,” – the prosecutor's office informs.
For inflicting bodily harm on a law enforcement officer in connection with the performance of his official duties, the resident of Prykarpattia faces a restriction of liberty for up to five years or imprisonment for the same duration.
