In 2024, the tax on Google in Ukraine generated a record 11.2 billion UAH.

In the year the tax was introduced, the revenue amounted to 4.3 billion UAH.

In 2024, revenues from the tax on electronic services provided by non-residents exceeded the initially planned amount by four times. This was reported on Tuesday, January 7, by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation, and Customs Policy, Danilo Hetmantsev.

«Predictions and forecasts that it would not work in Ukraine, that non-residents would not register and would exit the Ukrainian market, have proven to be incorrect. On the contrary, revenues from the so-called Google tax have been increasing year by year», the message states.

According to Hetmantsev, in the year the tax was introduced, revenues amounted to 4.3 billion UAH in 2023 – 8 billion UAH. In 2024, revenues reached 11.2 billion UAH, which is nearly four times the amount initially anticipated following the adoption of the law.

«We expect that the upcoming initiatives to implement the DAC 7, ATAD I, and ATAD II directives will be as successful as the 'Google tax'», added the committee head.

Earlier, it became known that the Kremlin authorities seized over 100 million dollars from the Russian division of the American company Google, which were redirected to fund military propaganda.
