On Wednesday, February 5, a woman fell from the 16th floor of a residential building in Odesa along with her nine-year-old child. This was reported by the press service of the Odesa regional police.
According to law enforcement officials, the incident occurred in the morning of February 5. The police did not specify the exact address of the event but mentioned that the woman and child fell in the Kyiv district of the city, located along the coast.
“Unfortunately, the woman died at the scene from her injuries, and the child, approximately five years old, was hospitalized. Their identities are being established,” the police press service stated.
An investigative team and juvenile law enforcement officers are currently working at the scene. The legal qualification of the incident will be provided later.
Local Telegram channels reported that the incident took place in the residential complex “Horizon.” The details and circumstances of the event are being clarified.
Updated at 12:00. The press service of the Odesa regional police clarified that a 37-year-old woman fell from the 16th floor of a residential building with her 9-year-old daughter. The girl died in the hospital from her injuries.
Law enforcement officials have initiated proceedings under paragraph 2 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional murder of a minor child) and part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional murder marked as "suicide"). The bodies of the woman and child will be sent for forensic examination.
