In the Mykolaiv region, a driver of a VAZ crashed into a concrete block while under the influence.

The patrol police of Mykolaiv region removed a driver from control, who was likely under the influence of alcohol, after causing a traffic accident.

This information was reported by the police press service.

On Thursday, January 30, around 3 a.m., the patrol received a report about a traffic accident on the M-14 highway Odessa — Melitopol — Novoazovsk.

Officers determined that the driver, operating a VAZ vehicle, lost control and collided with a structure made of concrete blocks, and they also noticed signs of alcohol intoxication. When asked about his condition, he stated that he had consumed alcoholic beverages only after the accident, not realizing that this was also illegal. The man refused to undergo an alcohol test.

The patrol officers drafted protocols against the driver under Article 124 (Traffic violations leading to an accident), part 4 of Article 130 (Consumption of alcohol by a person driving a vehicle after a traffic accident involving them) and part 5 of Article 126 (Driving a vehicle by a person without the necessary documents for operating a vehicle) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
