The Ukrainian Navy reports that there are no Russian ships left in the Black and Azov Seas.

The Russian Black Sea Fleet has lost 75% of its ability to carry out combat missions.
В Черном и Азовском морях не осталось ни одного российского корабля, сообщают ВМС Украины.

Russia has withdrawn its naval vessels from the Black and Azov Seas, as reported by the Ukrainian Navy.

As of 06:00 on Thursday, there were no such ships in the mentioned waters.

Meanwhile, seven Russian warships continue to operate in the Mediterranean Sea, two of which are carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles.

On January 8, Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk stated that Russia has completely abandoned the repair of its fleet in the annexed Crimea due to the risk of losses from attacks.

He reminded that the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the small missile ship (MRC) "Cyclone" in Sevastopol Bay, struck the submarine "Rostov-on-Don" twice, and hit the MRC "Askold" once in Kerch.

"These examples suggest to the Russians that using Crimea for ship repairs is fundamentally impossible," Pletenchuk noted.

After the war began, Ukraine, lacking its own fleet, managed to damage or destroy at least 27 ships and one submarine of the Russian Navy using missiles and marine drones.

Of the 15 landing ships and boats that were in the Black Sea in February 2022, only five remain operational.

In September 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a missile strike on the Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol. Additionally, they reclaimed Snake Island and dismantled the Russian fleet's surveillance system at the "Boyko Towers" in the northwestern part of the Black Sea. According to analysts, the Black Sea Fleet has lost 75% of its ability to carry out combat missions as a result.

At the end of October, State Duma senator Dmitry Rogozin admitted that the Black Sea Fleet had to change its registration because its large ships had become easy targets for the Armed Forces' unmanned boats. Initially, the vessels were relocated to Novorossiysk, but were later evacuated from there due to the threat of being hit by long-range Storm Shadow missiles possessed by the Armed Forces.

However, for operations in the Black Sea area, Ukrainians most frequently use the Magura V5 and Sea Baby drones. The latter can carry up to 850 kg of explosives. Visually, they resemble motor boats but are equipped with appropriate camouflage to complicate detection. Drone control is conducted via AR glasses.
