"Ukrhydroenergo" will invest nearly 1 billion UAH in anti-drone protection for the Kremenchuk Hydroelectric Station.

The agreement with the contractor was made without conducting an open bidding process.

PrJSC "Ukrhydroenergo" has signed a contract with PrJSC "Ukrstal Konstruktsiya" for the construction of anti-drone protection for the Kremenchuk Hydroelectric Power Station, amounting to UAH 976.95 million (including VAT). This was reported on Tuesday, November 12, by the publication "Ekonomichna Pravda," referencing data from the Prozorro procurement system.

The agreement was made on November 4 without open bidding due to the specifics of procurement during the martial law period. The initial expected cost of the work was UAH 994.09 million. According to the terms of the agreement, construction work is to be completed by December 31, 2025.

According to data from the YouControl system, the ultimate beneficiary of PrJSC "Ukrstal Konstruktsiya" is former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council during Viktor Yushchenko's presidency and one of the founders of the "Industrial Union of Donbas" corporation, Vitaliy Haiduk. "Ukrstal Konstruktsiya" will also construct anti-drone protective structures at the Kyiv HES and HAES.

Additionally, the Kremenchuk Hydroelectric Power Station is the third stage of the Dnieper cascade, located in the city of Svitlovodsk, Kirovohrad region. Construction of the hydroelectric power station began in 1954. The first hydro unit was commissioned in 1959, and the last one (12th) was completed in 1968. As of 2021, the capacity of the Kremenchuk HES was 700.4 MW.

As reported by ZAXID.NET, on November 11, Russian troops damaged the Ternivska dam of the Kurakhivka reservoir in Donetsk region. As of 16:00 on November 11, the water level in the river had risen by 1.2 m. Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Vadym Filashkin stated that this strike potentially poses a threat to residents of settlements along the Vovcha River – both in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Head of the Kurakhivska Military Administration Roman Padun commented to "Suspilne" that water continues to flow downstream from the damaged Ternivska dam at the Kurakhivka reservoir; however, no flooded houses have been recorded so far. Due to ongoing enemy shelling, it is impossible to inspect the damage to the dam.
