Ukrainian boxing world champion Denys Berinchyk has a new opponent.

Promotional company TopRank has announced a match for the WBO lightweight championship featuring Denis Berinchik (19-0, 9 KOs).

His opponent will be the undefeated American Kishon Davis (12-0, 8 KOs).

The 36-year-old Ukrainian will be defending his championship title for the first time, while the 25-year-old challenger gets his first opportunity to compete for a title of this caliber.

The fight is scheduled to take place on February 14 at the legendary Madison Square Garden arena in New York, USA.

It is noteworthy that both boxers were once silver medalists at the Olympic Games: Berinchik in 2012 and Davis in 2021.

Recall that Berinchik won the vacant WBO lightweight title in May of last year, defeating Emanuel Navarrete by split decision.

Background. Berinchik was set to make his first title defense on the undercard of the Usyk – Fury fight, but the match was never officially announced.
