The Ukrainian Energy Exchange has announced its first auction for the sale of renewable energy certificates.

The Ukrainian Energy Exchange will conduct its first electronic auction for the sale of renewable energy source origin guarantees from the State Enterprise "Guaranteed Buyer" on December 30, 2024, at 14:00.

A total of 10,000 guarantees will be offered. The production period is September 2024. Energy source: solar. The starting price for the renewable energy origin guarantees is 13 UAH per 1 MWh.

Participants wishing to take part in the electronic auctions must complete the registration procedure for the origin guarantee trading section at LLC "UEB" and ensure that their general account at the Private Enterprise BETS (Electric Power) has sufficient funds for the required guarantee deposit, based on the starting price and covering the commission fee.

According to the energy exchange's forecast, the annual supply of origin guarantees from renewable energy production will be approximately 10 million MWh, of which the share of the "Guaranteed Buyer" will be 8 million MWh, the share of universal service suppliers (USS) will be 1.5 million MWh, and other producers will account for 0.5 million MWh. The market is expected to grow to 20–30 million MWh per year by 2030.
