Hungary will deploy air defense systems near its border with Ukraine.

According to Hungary's Minister of Defense, "the war has entered its most dangerous phase" due to Western countries' permission to use long-range weapons to strike Russian territory.

The Hungarian Minister of Defense, Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, has ordered the deployment of air defense systems to protect the northeastern part of the country, which borders Ukraine. The Minister explained this decision was prompted by concerns over escalation following permission for Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory using Western weaponry. This was reported by European Truth citing Telex on November 21.

In a video published on Facebook, the Hungarian minister stated that “the scale of the Russian-Ukrainian war is greater than ever, and the war has entered its most dangerous phase.” According to him, Ukrainians have received permission from Western nations to use long-range weapons to strike deep into the Russian Federation, while Russia has updated its nuclear doctrine, expanding the possible conditions for the use of nuclear weapons. The publication notes that preparations for such a move in Russia had been ongoing for several months, well before the U.S. decision to allow the use of long-range weaponry by the Defense Forces.

Last weekend, in response to the missile attack on Transcarpathia, the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Péter Szijjártó, suggested intensifying peace efforts.

Permission for Long-Range Strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russia

On November 17, the New York Times, citing U.S. officials, reported that U.S. President Joe Biden had authorized Ukraine to use long-range ATACMS missiles to attack Russian territory. Subsequently, on November 19, the U.S. State Department officially confirmed this information. On the same day, Ukrainian media spread reports that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had allegedly already used ATACMS to attack a weapons depot in Bryansk. However, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not specify the type of weapon used to hit the depot.

On November 20, several foreign media outlets reported that Ukraine had used Franco-British Storm Shadow cruise missiles for the first time to strike Russian territory. The Defense Forces reportedly attacked a Russian operational command post in the village of Maryino in the Kursk region. The video captures about 15 explosions, although some of them may be attributed to air defense systems. Analysts from Defense Express suggest that the only logical explanation for the significant expenditure of Storm Shadow missiles on such a target is the presence of the command of the Russian army group in the Kursk region along with North Korean generals.
