In the territory of the Russian special economic zone "Alabuga" in Tatarstan, a warehouse containing parts for Shahed-136 drones, which the aggressor country uses to attack Ukraine, was destroyed by fire. This was reported on Monday, December 23, by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the intelligence report, the Russian warehouse housed 65 fuselages of strike drones, as well as engines, navigation systems, and thermal imaging cameras for the production of 400 Shahed-136 drones. All of this was burned to the ground.
"The mysterious destructive fire dealt another blow to the military-industrial complex of terrorist Russia. The losses incurred from the destruction of the Russian warehouse are estimated at $16 million," the report stated.
Ukrainian intelligence did not specify the cause of the fire at the Russian facility or when it occurred, but emphasized that there will be just retribution for every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people.
Additionally, on April 2, the authorities of Tatarstan reported a drone attack on enterprises in Yelabuga and Nizhnekamsk, which are over 1200 km away from the border with Ukraine. As a result of the strike in Yelabuga, damage was inflicted on a complex of hostels built for workers of the special economic zone (SEZ) and students of the local college "Alabuga Polytechnic." Significant destruction of production facilities in the area was also reported.
