On the night of February 3, drones targeted fuel and energy facilities in the Astrakhan and Volgograd regions of Russia.

 This was reported on Telegram by the governor of the Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin.

“As a result of one of the drones falling, a fire broke out, but there were no casualties,” assured the Russian official.

Babushkin did not specify which facility was affected; however, the Russian Telegram channel Baza reported an attack on a gas processing plant near Astrakhan.

“Rosaviatsiya” suspended flights at the airports of Astrakhan, Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Vladikavkaz, Grozny, and Makhachkala.

Similar restrictions were implemented at Volgograd airport, where there were also reports of explosions at an oil refinery and power outages in the city.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that air defense intercepted and destroyed 70 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory during the night, including 25 over the Volgograd region, 27 over the Rostov region, and 7 over the Astrakhan region.
