In Poland, a section of a historic building collapsed due to a gas explosion.

Rescue teams are searching for two residents trapped under the rubble of the stone building.

In the center of Cieszyn, located in southern Poland, part of a historic tenement collapsed due to a gas explosion. There may be people trapped under the rubble, reported RMF24 on Sunday, December 29.

It was noted that on December 29, shortly after 4 AM, residents of buildings on Głęboka Street in Cieszyn were awakened by a loud bang, followed by a fire. As a result of the fire, part of the historic multi-family building collapsed. One person was evacuated from the building, while 17 others were evacuated from neighboring buildings that caught fire. Over 100 firefighters, including specialists with search dogs, were working at the scene.

According to the authorities in Cieszyn, there are 11 registered residents in the building where the fire occurred. Currently, three people are reported injured, and two residents are considered missing.

Głęboka Street stretches about 400 meters in length. It runs from the main square of Cieszyn to the border bridge with the Czech Republic. The area where the fire took place is currently cut off from power and gas supply.
