The German police apprehended a 23-year-old blogger who launched fireworks towards an apartment in the Neukölln district of Berlin on New Year's Eve. The offender was arrested at Berlin Brandenburg Airport on Saturday, January 4, reported the Deutsche Welle radio station.
It has been noted that the 23-year-old Instagram and TikTok blogger, whose name has not been disclosed, is suspected of attempted arson, causing serious bodily harm, and property damage.
On his Instagram account, which has over 310,000 followers, the young man posted a now-unavailable video of the fireworks being launched towards the apartment in Neukölln, Berlin.
No one was injured as a result of the incident, and the residents of the apartment were able to quickly extinguish the fire that broke out after the fireworks were launched, the police reported.
Prior to his arrest, the blogger expressed outrage regarding the investigation into the fireworks incident. In one of the videos, he claimed that it was due to racism in Germany and that he plans to return to his homeland. However, he later stated that what happened was "a mistake."
