“The government apparatus is not being reduced, and our economy is declining. This year, we ranked 150th in economic freedoms, having recently been at 130th, which means we have dropped 20 places. Our salary levels in Europe are the lowest, making us the last in terms of wages. However, I cannot say the same about officials. Last year, our officials showcased record salaries; I have the figures for December, and it’s simply a resource curse for us,” claims Sviatoslav Dubina.
According to the military, the average salary of officials in Ukraine has risen to 80,000 hryvnias, with the highest reaching 370,000. If we look at the ministries, he mentions, the Ministry of Culture has 134,000, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has 125,000, and we even have a State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience, although it's hard to say if they have a conscience, given that the average salary there is 122,000, and this is all while our military personnel, even those in combat, are not receiving such amounts.
“Another figure. Our expenditure part, cash expenses in 2024, amounted to nearly 4.5 trillion. This means that officials, the cream of society, aristocrats, the nobility who were tortured back during the French bourgeois revolution and somehow made their way to the Pechersk Hills, are distributing 4.5 trillion,” emphasizes Sviatoslav Dubina.
By the way, he reminds us that in 2021, they distributed 1.5 trillion, meaning that expenditures have tripled since then, and they are now being allocated by officials whose number equals that of two army formations.
