Around midnight on January 2, in Sykhiv, Lviv, a drunk driver in a car knocked down two road signs, crashed into a tree, and subsequently, the vehicle caught fire. The perpetrator of the accident managed to exit the car in time and was unharmed.
According to the patrol police of Lviv region, around midnight on January 2, an accident occurred on Hutorivka Street in Lviv. A drunk 23-year-old driver of a Hyundai Sonata veered into the oncoming lane, lost control, knocked down two road signs, crashed into a tree, and as a result, the car caught fire. Judging by the published photos, the vehicle was completely burned. It is known that firefighters extinguished the fire.
During the interaction with the 23-year-old driver, the patrol officers noticed signs of alcohol intoxication. He refused to undergo a sobriety test at the scene and at the medical facility.
The driver was issued a ruling for driving into the oncoming lane and two protocols were drawn up: for the traffic accident and for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
