In Lviv region, police have located a 56-year-old resident of Horodok who murdered his acquaintance. The detained individual had previously been held criminally responsible for causing severe bodily harm. This was reported on Saturday, January 4, by the Lviv Regional Police.
Law enforcement officials determined that a conflict arose between the deceased, a 44-year-old resident of Horodok, and his guest, also a local 56-year-old man, during the consumption of alcoholic beverages. As a result of the altercation, the guest strangled the host and fled the scene.
Police examined the footage from the "Safe Lviv" surveillance system, identified the location of the suspect, and apprehended him on January 3.
Investigators have informed the detained individual of his suspicion for committing a crime under part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty for this article ranges from seven to fifteen years of imprisonment. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will determine a preventive measure for the suspect.
