The first trailer for the eighth installment of the "Mission Impossible" franchise has been released. It will be titled "Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning." The premiere is set for May 23, 2025.
Tom Cruise will reprise his role as Ethan Hunt for the eighth time, once again saving the world. This time, he faces a dangerous AI program called The Entity, which seems to anticipate the hero's every move and could lead to disaster if it falls into the wrong hands.
In the trailer, Cruise unsurprisingly showcases several thrilling stunts as he attempts to reach a sunken Russian submarine, where The Entity is hiding, but encounters an old foe from the past named Gabriel (Esai Morales).
Alongside Cruise and Morales, the cast of "Mission Impossible 8" includes Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, Henry Czerny, Greg Tarzan Davis, Mariela Garriga, and Indira Varma.
The film is directed and written by Christopher McQuarrie, who has previously worked on three films in the series and collaborated with Cruise on "Top Gun: Maverick."
