In 2025, the financial support for military academy cadets will increase.

In 2025, first and second-year cadets will receive 8,000 UAH, while third and fourth-year cadets will receive 20,000 UAH. This was announced on Sunday, December 22, by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Serhiy Melnyk, during a meeting in Lviv with cadets from the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy.

Starting from March 2025, military academy cadets will see improved financial support. Specifically, first and second-year cadets will receive payments equivalent to the minimum wage in Ukraine – 8,000 UAH. Melnyk noted that as salaries increase, the financial support will also grow in accordance with the relevant coefficient.

Third and fourth-year cadets, who are equated with contract service, will receive over 20,000 UAH.

In his statement, Melnyk assured the cadets that the Ministry of Defense will continue to support them by enhancing their training and service conditions. He also promised to maintain the practice of open meetings with cadets from all military higher education institutions in Ukraine.

«The Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi Academy remains one of the leading institutions preparing the best officers for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Creating proper training and living conditions for cadets is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Defense», – added the Deputy Minister of Defense.

It should be noted that in November, in response to an information request from “Suspilne”, the Ministry of Defense reported that the salaries of cadets studying at military educational institutions range from 620 to 790 UAH. Additionally, cadets with only excellent and good grades from their session can expect a monthly bonus of 50% or 25%. Bonuses may also be awarded for fulfilling duties in leadership positions.

In November, Deputy Minister of Defense Serhiy Melnyk noted that Ukraine is undergoing a comprehensive transformation of its higher military education system, based on real combat experience, enhancing the qualifications of instructors, and strengthening language training.
