Трамп примет решение о продаже TikTok в течение 30 дней, сообщает Reuters.

On January 25, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he is negotiating with interested parties regarding the purchase of TikTok and is likely to make a decision about the platform within the next 30 days.

Reuters reports this news.

“I have spoken with many people about TikTok, and there is a lot of interest in TikTok,” Trump said to reporters aboard Air Force One while flying to Florida.

The possibility of a deal with Oracle was previously discussed. According to the publication, the agreement would stipulate that TikTok's Chinese owner, ByteDance, would retain a stake in the company, but data collection and software updates would be managed by Oracle, which is already the backbone of the platform's web infrastructure.

In a conversation with reporters, Trump stated that he had not spoken with Oracle founder Larry Ellison about TikTok.

When asked whether he would make a deal with Oracle and other investors to save TikTok, Trump replied, “No, not with Oracle. Many people, very important people, are talking to me about a purchase, and I will probably make that decision later. The next 30 days. If we can save TikTok, that would be good.”

According to a source from Reuters, the terms of any potential deal with Oracle have been fluctuating and are likely to have changed. One source indicated that the full scope of discussions has not yet been established.

The publication reports that NPR, citing its sources, stated that representatives of Oracle and the White House held a meeting on Friday regarding a potential deal, and another meeting is scheduled for next week.

In addition to Oracle, TikTok is also being pursued by a group of investors led by billionaire Frank McCourt and by Jimmy Donaldson, better known as YouTube star Mr. Beast.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that on January 18, TikTok ceased operations in the U.S. Just a few days later, Trump signed an order that delays the platform's ban by 75 days. The day before, the U.S. president stated that he wants half of the company to be owned by Americans.
