President Donald Trump has instructed the transfer of 900-kilogram MK84 bombs to Israel, lifting the ban imposed by the Biden administration.
According to three Israeli officials, Axios reported this information.
They stated that in the coming days, the bombs will be loaded onto ships and sent to Israel. “Many items that were ordered and paid for by Israel but not sent by Biden are now on their way!”, – wrote Trump himself about this matter.
In May 2024, the Biden administration decided to halt the delivery of approximately 3,500 bombs to Israel, including the MK84, in an effort to limit civilian casualties in the densely populated city of Rafah during Israel's military campaign against Hamas in Gaza.
This triggered one of the largest crises in U.S.-Israel relations.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that Israel and Hamas reached agreements for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages. As part of the exchange, Hamas transferred four IDF soldiers to the Red Cross after 477 days of captivity.
