US President Donald Trump has once again threatened Canada, urging it to become the "dreamed 51st" state of the United States.

He wrote this on his social media platform, Truth Social.

"Canada should become our cherished 51st state. Significantly lower taxes and much better military protection for the people of Canada – and no tariffs," Trump stated.

According to him, the United States is "unjustly subsidizing Canada by hundreds of billions of dollars."

"We don't need anything they have. We have unlimited energy, we should be making our own cars and have more timber than we could ever use. Without this massive subsidy, Canada will cease to exist as a viable country," Trump believes.

The US president added to his statement that this is "harsh, but correct."

Later, Trump wrote that the US is losing "trillions of dollars" subsidizing other countries.
