In 2024, Ukraine registered just over 26 thousand new companies. This represents a decrease of 2.7% compared to 2023.
This is noted in a study by YouControl.
Kyiv leads the way with 9,200 companies, followed by Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv regions with 2,200 and 2,100 respectively. The highest number of new enterprises were registered in the following sectors:
The number of companies that ceased operations decreased by 12.7%: 3,300 in 2024 compared to 3,700 in 2023. The rate of business closures last year increased most significantly in Dnipropetrovsk (from 7.7% to 12.1%), Kharkiv (from 4.8% to 6.1%), and Poltava regions (from 3.1% to 4.1%).
The largest increase in the share of business closures in 2024 was observed in agriculture, rising from 15.4% to 17.4%.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that last year Ukraine registered 1,109 new companies with foreign owners, which is nearly a quarter less compared to 2023.
