The self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, predicts that "there will be some resolution to the Ukrainian conflict in 2025."
This is reported by the publication "BelTA."
"There will be some resolution to the Ukrainian conflict this year. I'm not saying that the war will end and so on. Conflicts will probably continue for a long time. But there will be a resolution. The light at the end of the tunnel will appear this year," Lukashenko stated, adding that the U.S. will not compel Russia to act in their interests regarding Ukraine.
At the same time, Lukashenko believes that Russia will never agree to withdraw from the occupied territories or return Crimea to Ukraine.
"A compromise may look like this. Vladimir Vladimirovich recently said: go beyond the borders of the regions – Donbas, Luhansk region, then Kherson, Zaporizhzhia region. There – to the borders. Everyone – let's stop. But probably not entirely. Well, then what? Well, then don’t demand that we return the territories and the Azov Sea that were once Ukrainian. Here’s a compromise, to halt at the line of contact. Possible. That’s my opinion. But Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin know better. They are directly involved in this," Lukashenko declared.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that on January 26, so-called presidential elections are taking place in Belarus. Several countries have already announced their non-recognition of the results of this "expression of will."
