The Skole District Court in Lviv Oblast found the head of the Skole community, Mykola Romanyshyn, guilty of violating the requirements for preventing and regulating conflicts of interest. He awarded himself additional payments during 2023-2024 and also rewarded his nephew multiple times without disclosing the conflict of interest. The court imposed a fine on the official as punishment.
As stated in the court ruling published in the judicial register in January 2025, the mayor of Skole, Mykola Romanyshyn, awarded himself bonuses and allowances totaling over 600,000 UAH from February 2023 to November 2024, and also granted several bonuses to his nephew, who serves as the secretary of the city council. According to law enforcement officials, the official failed to disclose the conflict of interest when making decisions regarding payments for himself and his nephew.
In court, Mykola Romanyshyn acknowledged his guilt in committing administrative offenses under part 1 and part 2 of Article 172-6 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The case was presided over by Judge Yuriy Yasyinsky, who reviewed all materials and imposed a fine of 3,400 UAH along with a court fee of 605 UAH on the official. The ruling can still be appealed.
Mykola Romanyshyn won the elections for the head of the Skole OTG in 2020 as a candidate from "European Solidarity." He previously served as the head of the Skole District Council. In the 2015 elections, he was elected to the Skole District Council from the "Christian Democratic Union" party.
