According to the expert, the new U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, states that the Russian-Ukrainian war needs to be concluded in a way that prevents its resurgence in 3-4 years, requiring a stable and sustainable peace.

“However, once again, there is no detailed information or step-by-step plan regarding how Marco Rubio or his colleagues from Donald Trump's administration envision this. As of today, it seems that Trump's plan is simply to halt the hostilities,” reflects Alexander Musienko.

He mentions that, arguably, the most realistic plan was articulated by Mike Waltz, Trump’s national security advisor, even before the inauguration, emphasizing the importance of stabilizing the front to prevent the Ukrainian Armed Forces from losing ground to Russian troops and to block further advances. Thus, the expert explains, Waltz essentially revealed that partners will focus specifically on this type of assistance to Ukraine.

“That is the entire plan. But where are the decisive actions that Trump supporters claimed? That he would do everything immediately, that there would be an instant drop in oil prices, that aid to Ukraine would flow, including hundreds of ATACMS, F-16s, and much more… Unfortunately, it must be stated that this is not yet in sight. At the same time, there are constant calls for Putin to engage in negotiations, but it is not very clear how the U.S. intends to compel Putin, because, I emphasize again, sanctions and economic pressure are important, but they are supplementary tools that cannot be seen as primary. They work only in conjunction with strength,” explains Alexander Musienko.

As reported by Zнай.ua, Musienko announced that negotiations with Trump's team will begin during Ukrainian Week.

Additionally, Zнай.ua wrote about Karasev discussing whether Trump is exaggerating the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces – 700,000 killed.
