The main airport in Syria, located in Damascus, will resume international flights on Tuesday, January 7, following a prolonged hiatus due to the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's regime.

According to the information, international flights carrying humanitarian aid and foreign diplomatic delegations have already arrived in Syria. Domestic flights have also been reinstated, with the first flight from Damascus to Aleppo taking place on December 18.

Qatar Airways announced on Thursday the resumption of flights to Damascus after nearly 13 years, planning to operate three flights per week starting Tuesday.

On Saturday, an Egyptian aircraft carrying humanitarian aid made its first flight from Cairo to Damascus Airport following the fall of Assad's regime.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia launched a humanitarian air bridge on Wednesday, delivering food, shelter, and medical supplies to Syria.
