Air defense forces shot down 53 Shahed drones overnight, with some hitting targets in Zaporizhzhia.

On the night of November 16, the Russian army launched an attack on Ukraine using 83 "Shaheds" and drones of unspecified types.

This was reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The air defense system was active in 11 regions: Cherkasy, Odesa, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi.

As of 8:30 AM, there is confirmation of the downing of 53 attack drones. An additional 30 drones were locally lost in various regions due to active countermeasures.

According to data from the KMVA, in the outskirts of Kyiv, air defense forces destroyed up to 10 "Shaheds." However, debris from the downed drones damaged a residential high-rise building in the Obolon district. No information regarding casualties has been reported.

At the same time, the head of the Zaporizhzhia OVA, Ivan Fedorov, informed about damage to a critical infrastructure facility in the Zaporizhzhia region due to a drone attack. The shockwave also damaged commercial premises and road surfaces. Preliminary reports indicate there were no casualties.
