Sweden has announced its largest military aid package to Ukraine.

Its value is 13.5 billion Swedish kronor.

The Swedish government is set to provide Ukraine with the largest military aid package since the onset of the full-scale war, amounting to 13.5 billion Swedish kronor (1.23 billion dollars).

This information was reported on the website of the Swedish Ministry of Defence.

It is noted that this package will also enhance Ukraine's capabilities in the field of long-range weaponry. Sweden plans to allocate approximately 1 billion Swedish kronor to support the production of long-range missiles and drones in Ukraine.

The document also includes provisions to double the quantity of the previously delivered 16 CB 90 fast attack boats, supply anti-tank weapons, and invest in the development of the Ukrainian defense industry.

The Swedish agency emphasized that this is already the 18th military aid package to Ukraine, bringing the total support amount since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion to approximately 61.9 billion Swedish kronor (over 5.6 billion dollars).

The aid package announced on Thursday contains eight components, the largest of which involves the procurement of modern equipment, primarily of Swedish and European manufacture, for transfer to Ukraine.

The total value of the package is 13.5 billion Swedish kronor (about 1.25 billion dollars) and includes the following components:

  • procurements for free transfer amounting to approximately 5.9 billion Swedish kronor;
  • financial contributions totaling 2.8 billion Swedish kronor;
  • transfers of equipment from the inventories of the Swedish Armed Forces with a replacement value of 3.3 billion Swedish kronor (including 146 trucks, 16 CB 90 boats, 23 marine weapon stations, 1 million 12.7-mm rounds, 1500 TOW anti-tank missiles, 200 anti-tank shells with training equipment, infantry gear, and personal protective equipment against CBRN threats);
  • funding for research services through the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) and the Swedish Defence University (FHS) amounting to 180 million Swedish kronor;
  • 650 million Swedish kronor for training programs aimed at preparing Ukrainian military personnel, including under the Interflex initiative;
  • 400 million Swedish kronor for the maintenance of already provided Swedish weapons.

Background. Previously, Mind reported that Lithuania transferred portable short-range air defense systems to Ukraine. The country plans to enhance Ukraine's air defense needs in 2025.
