The Security Service of Ukraine has initiated 11 criminal proceedings against 12 lawyers who assisted conscripted men in evading mobilization and engaged in document forgery for their departure abroad. This was reported by journalists from "Slidstvo.Info" on Wednesday, November 27.
In response to journalists' inquiries, the SBU revealed that the lawyers facing charges did not merely provide advice to draft dodgers or those mobilized, but also committed other illegal acts. According to the materials, the legal representatives resorted to document forgery, abused their influence, or assisted in illegal transportation across the state border.
“The investigation established that some of these lawyers entered into a criminal conspiracy with representatives of the Military Medical Commission (VLC), the Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC), and the Territorial Center for Recruitment (TCR) to unlawfully process forged conclusions regarding unfitness for service, presence of disability, and so on,” said the Security Service. They added that the 12 implicated lawyers have already received suspicion notices from law enforcement.
Furthermore, "Slidstvo.Info" previously published an investigation into the activities of three Ukrainian lawyers who consult men from abroad on how to evade mobilization. Some of these legal representatives openly advise clients to violate the law.
