In the night from Friday to Saturday, November 16, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine using strike drones. In total, over 80 UAVs were launched by the Russians overnight, as reported by the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
From 20:30 on November 15, the Russians attacked several regions of Ukraine with 83 Shahed-type strike drones and unspecified types of drones from the Russian cities of Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Additionally, the occupiers launched a guided S-300 missile at the Kharkiv region.
“As of 08:30, the downing of 53 enemy UAVs has been confirmed in Cherkasy, Odesa, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions,” the Air Force press service reported.
Another 30 enemy drones were lost in various locations.
As a result of the Russian attack in Kyiv's Obolonskyi district, damage to residential infrastructure was recorded. In particular, windows were shattered and balconies damaged in one of the high-rise buildings due to falling drone debris. There were no casualties or injuries reported from the attack.
In the Zaporizhia region, one of the high-voltage lines supplying the temporarily occupied Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant in Enerhodar was damaged due to the nighttime shelling. The press service of "Ukrenergo" informed that power supply is being maintained through a backup line, the location of the damage has already been identified, and emergency recovery work is ongoing.
